This installation opened the “Warsaw Under Construction II” festival in October 2010. The project transforms a sanitised shopping street into a sensual growing patch for the shoppers, workers and residents to enjoy. The garden is composed of lavender, mint, parsley, fennel and chives which are grown in custom made hessian carrier bags. Over three weeks visitors will be able to sign up to take ownership of one of the bags of plants after the festival has finished.

Signalling the presence of the garden, two elevated garden sheds also give a sense of enclosure to the space and provide a viewing platform to admire the plants. Visitors’ opinions on the greening of public spaces will be collected within the sheds to hopefully inform future planning within Warsaw.
