The Sorrell Foundation’s ‘What’s Next for Schools?’ exhibition at Somerset House is visited by thousands of children a year. Dallas Pierce Quintero was approached to breathe new life into part of the exhibition and create an inspirational installation where children could leave wishes for their schools.
A bold silhouette of a tree was created at the back of the gallery from cnc-cut plywood. As visitors draw closer they discover the silhouette to be a full sized three dimensional tree that fills the space behind. During events the Sorrell Foundation use the tree to display school childrens’ wishes, and as a backdrop for photographs of the pupils.
For this project DPQ acted as designers and contractors for the construction of the installation.
