Dallas Pierce Quintero and Umut Yamac teamed up to develop a family of flat furniture for Dazed & Confused. The designs are based on the X Stool, designed by Umut Yamac as a rapid assembly flat pack piece.

X marks the spot is a collection of furniture which continues this theme, and can be assembled without any fixings. The criteria for the design was borne from the brief ‘to create 100 seats under £10 each in 10 days’. However, rather than spend the money on hiring cheap seats or creating seats from throwaway materials, we were keen to look at ways to manufacture a cost effective seat, which will last.

The designs are a development of the original X stool prototype on the theme of ‘Play’ offering different combinations of seating that will influence how people interact with each other. We also like it because it’s a simple design classic.
